Lithium-Ion Batteries: Fire Prevention and Protection
Course Details
Lithium-Ion Batteries: Fire Prevention and Protection Training has been developed to provide participants with a clear understanding of the fire and explosion risks associated with lithium-ion batteries used in portable electronic devices, electric vehicles, energy storage systems, industrial equipment and workplaces.
The programme goes beyond explaining how lithium-ion batteries operate. It is designed to develop participants’ ability to recognise early signs of battery damage, assess the thermal runaway process, identify appropriate control measures for both small batteries and large battery systems, respond safely to battery-related fires and develop an effective emergency response plan.
Developed in line with current fire safety principles, international good practice, manufacturers’ instructions and risk management approaches, the programme aims to prevent battery-related fires, protect employees and emergency response teams, limit the consequences of incidents and improve organisational emergency preparedness.
